SIBO, or Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth, is a chronic bacterial infection of the gastrointestinal tract. This app is designed to be a mobile resource for those dealing with SIBO. It was developed in conjunction with Dr. Allison Siebecker, ND, MSOM, Lac from the SIBO Center at the National College for Natural Medicine in Portland, OR.
The initial version of the app supplies the user with an interactive version of the SIBO Specific Food Guide which identifies foods that may aggravate the symptoms of SIBO. The SIBO Specific Food Guide was developed by Dr. Allison Siebecker, ND, MSOM, LAc as combination of The Specific Carbohydrate Diet and The Low Fodmap Diet. It includes Dr. Siebeckers clinical input and several alterations from the original diets, based on her experience treating SIBO with diet. Dr. Siebecker has found this combination best for symptomatic relief of SIBO and specifically best for those who do not get adequate symptom relief from the other diets. It combines the best of both diets, reducing a broader range of fermentable carbohydrates than any other SIBO diet. The Food Guide is also cross referenced with the Paleo and Paleo Autoimmune Protocol diets for those starting with these diets instead of SCD.
The data set currently is available per device and does not include iCloud sync in the initial release.
